Upload custom thumbnails
Bring your own designed thumbnails into Thumbsy and track their versions.
Pro feature
Uploading custom thumbnails is available to Pro accounts — the Upload thumbnail button only appears in the dashboard toolbar for Pro users.
Besides saving thumbnails from YouTube, Pro accounts can upload their own designs — final exports, drafts, anything — directly into their library.
Uploading
Click Upload thumbnail in the dashboard toolbar, then drag and drop (or click to select) an image file. Give it a title or short description and click Upload.

After a successful upload, you're taken straight to its Collab page — uploaded thumbnails automatically get version tracking, so uploading a revised version later adds to the same history instead of creating a separate item.
Why this matters
Uploaded thumbnails are the ones you'll typically run through Simulate and Collab Reviews — version tracking is what lets both tools compare "draft 1 vs draft 2 vs draft 3" of the same video.
